The Herault department is characterized by hilly to mountainous landscapes, extensive vineyards, beautiful natural areas and sandy beaches on the Mediterranean Sea. A 30-minute drive away is Lac du Salagou, an artificial lake that attracts many water sports enthusiasts who come here to surf, swim, fish or sail.
Les Gorges d'Héric are located 20 minutes away. The Héric river rises at over 1000 meters altitude in the Espinousse and plunges, after a drop of 800 m over 8 km, into the Orb river. Les Gorges d'Heric are formed by a steep and jagged gorge, widely used as a training ground by climbers. For "ordinary" hikers, for whom an excellent path has been laid out, it is also an ideal excursion.
The Mediterranean Sea is about 40 minutes' drive away. The closest beaches are those of Serignan, Valras, Vias and Portiragnes-Plage. The seaside resort of Cap d'Agde is about 10 minutes further.
For your daily shopping you can visit Lamalou les Bains at, among others, a supermarket, bakeries, a butcher and a greengrocer. On Tuesday there is a market in the town center. Other nearby markets are, for example, in Bedarieux (Monday) and in the historic town of Pézenas (Saturday). The larger supermarkets are a 10-minute drive along the road towards Bédarieux.

For young and old it is wonderful to spend time at the many beautiful spots by the river. Jumping off the rocks is a favorite activity here.
A canoe trip on the Orb is highly recommended. Various rental companies offer trips from 5 to 25 kilometers.
In the typical South French wine village Murviel les Beziers, a wine tasting is held every Thursday at Domaine Le Mas des Dames
Hiking or cooling off in the Gorges d'Heric with its crystal clear water and numerous small waterfalls
Beziers, Cap D' Agde, Pezenas.... towns that breathe history. In towns like Olargues and Minerve you feel transported to the Middle Ages.
